Champion Exploration, LLC was formed in early 2008 to participate, as a working interest owner, in the drilling and development of prospects generated by Century Exploration New Orleans, Inc. and Century Exploration Houston, Inc. RAAM owns approximately 52% of the membership interest of Champion Exploration.

In 2008 Champion Exploration raised over $120 million in equity from its members, including RAAM, and intends to raise an additional $50 million by mid-year 2009. Since commencing its exploration program, Champion Exploration has achieved very good results creating substantive oil and natural gas reserves and cash flow.
